Experimental Models to Study the Neuroprotection of Acidic Postconditioning Against Cerebral Ischemia Yanrong Zheng*1, Zhe Shen*1, Xiaoli Wu1, Lei Jiang1, Weiwei Hu1, Zhong Chen1, Xiangnan Zhang1 1Institute of Pharmacology & Toxicology, College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Department of Pharmacology, Key Laboratory of Medical Neurobiology of The Ministry of Health of China, Zhejiang Province Key Laboratory of Neurobiology, Zhejiang University Acidic postconditioning protects against cerebral ischemia. Here we present two models to execute APC. They are achieved respectively by transferring corticostriatal slices to acidic buffer after oxygen-glucose deprivation in vitro and by inhaling 20% CO2 after middle cerebral artery occlusion in vivo.
Repeated Blood Collection from Tail Vein of Non-Anesthetized Rats with a Vacuum Blood Collection System Wusong Zou1, Yanqun Yang1, Ye Gu1, Pengfei Zhu1, Mingjing Zhang1, Zhong Cheng1, Xiaoyan Liu1, Yijun Yu1, Xiaohong Peng1 1Heart Center at Puai Hospital, Wuhan Puai Hospital, Jianghan University Here, we describe a simple tail vein blood sampling method in non-anesthetized rats using a vacuum extraction tube system. This method reduces the risk of direct exposure to blood and simplifies taking multiple samples from a single venipuncture.
Surgical Treatment for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia: Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP). Huan Xu*1, Xiang Wan*1, Meng Gu1, Yanbo Chen1, Qiling Shi1, Qi Chen1, Zhong Wang1 1Department of Urology, Shanghai 9th People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine Here we present a safe and efficient protocol, holmium laser enucleation of the prostate, to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia.
