الأمريكية المشتركة الكيمياء الحيوية روجر تسين لعام 2008 جائزة نوبل في الكيمياء مع Chalfie أوسامو شيمومورا ومارتن لاكتشافهم وتنمية البروتين في نيون الخضراء (GFP). تسين تحسنت بشكل كبير في GFP من النوع البري مما أدى إلى زيادة مضان ، صمود للضوء زيادة ، والتحول في ذروة الإثارة الكبرى إلى 488 نانومتر (مطابقة FITC).
