Amerikalı biyokimyacı Roger Tsien, Yeşil Floresan Protein (GFP) keşfi ve gelişimi için Martin Chalfie ve Osamu Shimomura, 2008 Nobel Kimya Ödülü paylaştı. Tsien, yabani tip artan floresan GFP, fotostabilite artması, önemli bir uyarım tepe ve 488 nm bir kayma (FITC eşleştirme) önemli ölçüde düzeldi.
