Summary
Bioquímico americano Roger Tsien dividiu o Prêmio Nobel 2008 em Química com Martin Chalfie e Shimomura Osamu pela descoberta e desenvolvimento da Proteína Fluorescente Verde (GFP). Tsien melhoraram drasticamente a GFP do tipo selvagem, resultando em aumento de fluorescência, fotoestabilidade aumentou, e uma mudança no pico de excitação principal a 488 nm (correspondência FITC).
