Viele von ihnen sind als Zell-penetrierende Peptide, die häufig auf ihr Potenzial als Drug-Delivery-Vektoren 1-3 sind vermerkt bezeichnet. Darüber hinaus gibt es zunehmendes Interesse an antimikrobiellen Peptiden, die über nicht-Membran lytische Mechanismen 4,5, insbesondere jene, die bakteriellen Membranen voraussichtlich nicht durchdringt, ohne dass Zell-Lyse und töten Zellen durch Eingriffe in intrazellulären Prozessen 6,7 betreiben.
