Flera ljusskada protokoll har beskrivits till skada fotoreceptorer och därmed framkalla en retinal regeneration svar i vuxen zebrafisk. Ljusinducerad retinal degeneration (LIRD) används ofta i både gnagare och zebrafisk till skada spö och fotoreceptorer konen. I vuxen zebrafisk, utlöser ljusmätare degeneration Müller gliaceller att återinträda i cellcykeln och producera transient-förstärkande stamfäder. Här visar vi att kombinera en kort UV-exponering med en kontinuerlig ljusa resultat ljusexponering i utbredd ljusmätare förlust och en robust förnyelse svar.
