Viene presentato un protocollo per sintetizzare nanoparticelle d'oro di ~12 nm di diametro (nanoparticelle Au) in un solvente organico. Le nanoparticelle d'oro sono sormontate da ligandi di orelammina per prevenire l'agglomerazione. Le nanoparticelle d'oro sono solubili in solventi organici come il toluene.
