Roy Al Ahmar Research Progenesis Technologies LLC Biography Publications Institution JoVE Articles Roy Al Ahmar Staff Scientist Roy Al Ahmar is a Staff Scientist at the biotech company Progenesis Technologies LLC in Huntington, WV. He received his undergraduate degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from the University of Balamand in Beirut, Lebanon. He received a Master's Degree in Forensic Science from Marshall University, and his PhD from Marshall University in Biomedical Sciences.Roy currently works on the commercial production of bacterial alginate to replace industrial seaweed alginate. Roy's research focuses on Pseudomonas aeruginosa and its link with Cystic Fibrosis. His research involved studying the mechanism of alginate production by P. aeruginosa. In addition, he has worked on development of treatment of lung infection by P. aeruginosa and vaccines for P. aeruginosa.
