Dr Elenius recieved her undergraduate honors and Ph.D in University of Turku, Finland. As a post-doctoral fellow in Professor Merton Bernfileld's laboratory at The Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA, she studied tissue and lung injury. Currently, she works as a pediatric pulmonologist in Department of Pediatrics in Turku University Hospital, which is a center of excellence in European Reference Network of Rare Lung Diseases (ERN-Lung Network).
