Die Innovation Arena ist eine neuartige Vergleichsmethode zur Untersuchung der technischen Innovationsrate pro Zeiteinheit bei Tieren. Wir haben die Innovation Arena als Werkzeug entwickelt, um verschiedene Arten oder Gruppen von Tieren in ihren innovativen Problemlösungsfähigkeiten zu vergleichen. Der Vorteil dieser Methode ist, dass wir die Probanden mit 20 Aufgaben gleichzeitig präsentieren. Damit können wir einerseits Unterschiede identifizieren, die auf artspezifische Veranlagungen zurückzuführen sein können, andererseits aber auch eine allgemeinere Problemlösungskompetenz extrahieren oder abschätzen.
