لقد طورنا بروتوكولا لنقل الخلايا الظهارية الصبغية البشرية الأولية عن طريق التثقيب الكهربائي باستخدام عامل مشتق من ظهارة الصباغ المشفر للجين (PEDF) باستخدام نظام ترانسبوزون Sleeping Beauty (SB). تم إثبات النقل الناجح من خلال تفاعل البلمرة المتسلسل الكمي (qPCR) ، والنشاف المناعي ، ومقايسة الممتز المناعي المرتبط بالإنزيم (ELISA).
