Rotteortotopisk nyretransplantationsmodel bidrager til at undersøge mekanismen for nyreallograftafstødning. Den nuværende model øger modtagernes overlevelse uden indblanding i blodforsyningen og venøs tilbagesvaling af underkroppen ved hjælp af en ende-til-ende anastomose af nyreimplantation og en ende-til-side "tunnel" metode til ureter-blære anastomose.
