We beschrijven een reproduceerbaar, geautomatiseerd en onbevooroordeeld beeldvormingssysteem voor het karakteriseren van de neuromusculaire junctiefunctie met behulp van menselijk gemanipuleerd skeletspierweefsel en optogenetische motoneuronen. Dit systeem maakt de functionele kwantificering van neuromusculaire connectiviteit in de loop van de tijd mogelijk en detecteert verminderde neuromusculaire functie veroorzaakt door neurotoxinen en myasthenia gravis patiëntenserum.
