Un modello che imiti lo scenario clinico delle ustioni e delle infezioni è necessario per promuovere la ricerca sulle ustioni. Il presente protocollo dimostra un modello semplice e riproducibile di infezione da ustione da ratto paragonabile a quello dell'uomo. Ciò facilita lo studio delle ustioni e delle infezioni successive all'ustione per lo sviluppo di nuovi trattamenti antibiotici topici.
