Xenotrapianti tumorali umani in topi immunodeficienti sono strumenti preziosi per studiare biologia del cancro. Sono descritti i protocolli specifici per generare xenotrapianti sottocutanei e intraepatiche da cellule di carcinoma epatocellulare umani o frammenti di tumore. Rigenerazione epatica indotta da epatectomia parziale in topi riceventi si presenta come una strategia per facilitare l'attecchimento intraepatica.
