Viral infections of the leptomeninges and subarachnoid space. Togaviridae infections; Flaviviridae infections; Rubella; Bunyaviridae infections; Orbivirus infections; Picornaviridae infections; Orthomyxoviridae infections; Rhabdoviridae infections; Arenaviridae infections; Herpesviridae infections; Adenoviridae infections; Jc virus infections; and Retroviridae infections may cause this form of meningitis.
