Denne protokollen beskriver en vanlig og gjennomførbar metode for å indusere akutt leverskade (ALI) via CCl4 eksponering gjennom et orogastrisk rør. CCl4 eksponering induserer ALI gjennom dannelsen av reaktive oksygenarter under biotransformasjon i leveren. Denne metoden brukes til å analysere patofysiologien til ALI og undersøke forskjellige hepatoprotektoriske strategier.
