Detaljer om signalgenerering og optimalisering, måling, datainnsamling og datahåndtering for en femtosekunders tidsløst nær-IR stimulert Raman spektrometer er beskrevet. En nær infrarød stimulert Raman studie på den spente tilstand dynamikken i β-karoten i toluen er vist som en representativ søknad.
Femtosecond tid-løst stimulert Raman spektroskopi er en lovende metode for å observere den strukturelle dynamikken i kortvarige transienter med nær infrarøde (nær-IR) overganger, fordi det kan overvinne den lave følsomheten til spontane Raman spektrometre i nær-IR-regionen. Her beskriver vi tekniske detaljer om en femtosekunders tidsløst nær-IR multiplex stimulert Raman spektrometer som vi nylig har utviklet. En beskrivelse av signalgenerering og optimalisering, måling, datainnsamling og kalibrering og korrigering av registrerte data er også gitt. Vi presenterer en anvendelse av vårt spektrometer for å analysere den spente tilstandsdynamikken til β-karoten i toluenløsning. En C = C stretch band av β-karoten i den nest laveste spentsinglet (S2) tilstand og den laveste spentsinglet (S1) tilstand er tydelig observert i den innspilte tidsløststimulert Raman spectra. Femtosekunders tidsløste nær-IR stimulerte Raman spektrometer gjelder for den strukturelle dynamikken i π-konjugatsystemer fra enkle molekyler til komplekse materialer.
Raman spektroskopi er et kraftig og allsidig verktøy for å undersøke molekylenes strukturer i et bredt utvalg av prøver fra enkle gasser, væsker og faste stoffer til funksjonelle materialer og biologiske systemer. Raman spredning er betydelig forbedret når fotonenergien til eksitasjonslyset sammenfaller med den elektroniske overgangsenergien til et molekyl. Resonansramaneffekten gjør det mulig for oss å selektivt observere Raman-spekteret av en art i en prøve bestående av mange typer molekyler. Nær-IR elektroniske overganger trekker mye oppmerksomhet som en sonde for å undersøke den spente tilstandsdynamikken til molekyler med store π-konjugerte strukturer. Energien og levetiden til den lavest spente singletstaten er bestemt for flere karotenoider, som har en lang endimensjonal polyenkjede1,2,3. Dynamikken i nøytrale og ladede eksitasjoner har blitt grundig undersøkt for ulike fotoledende polymerer i filmer4,5,6,7,nanopartikler8og løsninger9,10,11. Detaljert informasjon om transientenes strukturer vil være oppnåelig hvis tidsløst nær-IR Raman spektroskopi brukes på disse systemene. Bare noen få studier, men har blitt rapportert på tidsløst nær-IR Raman spektroskopi12,13,14,15,16, fordi følsomheten til nær-IR Raman spektrometre er ekstremt lav. Den lave følsomheten stammer hovedsakelig fra den lave sannsynligheten for nær-IR Raman spredning. Sannsynligheten for spontan Raman spredning er proporsjonal med ωiωiω s3,hvor ωi og ωs er frekvensene av eksitasjonslyset og Raman sprelys, henholdsvis. I tillegg har kommersielt tilgjengelige nær-IR-detektorer mye lavere følsomhet enn CCD-detektorer som fungerer i UV- og synlige områder.
Femtosecond tid-løst stimulert Raman spektroskopi har dukket opp som en ny metode for å observere tidsavhengige endringer av Raman aktive vibrasjonsbånd utover den tilsynelatende Fourier-transform grensen for en laser puls17,18,19,20 ,21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28 ,29,30,31,32,33. Stimulert Raman spredning genereres av bestråling av to laserpulser: Raman pumpe og sonde pulser. Her antas det at Raman pumpepulsen har en større frekvens enn sondepulsen. Når forskjellen mellom frekvensene til Raman-pumpen og probepulsene sammenfaller med frekvensen av en Raman aktiv molekylær vibrasjon, er vibrasjonen sammenhengende begeistret for et stort antall molekyler i det bestrålte volumet. Ikke-lineær polarisering indusert av den sammenhengende molekylære vibrasjonen forbedrer det elektriske feltet av probepulsen. Denne teknikken er spesielt kraftig for nær-IR Raman spektroskopi, fordi stimulert Raman spredning kan løse problemet med følsomheten av tidsløst nær-IR spontanRaman spektrometre. Stimulert Raman spredning oppdages som intensitetsendringer i sondepulsen. Selv om en nær-IR-detektor har lav følsomhet, vil stimulert Raman spredning oppdages når probeintensiteten er tilstrekkelig økt. Sannsynligheten for stimulert Raman spredning er proporsjonal med ωRPωSRS,hvor ωRP og ωSRS er frekvensene av Raman pumpe puls og stimulert Raman spredning, henholdsvis20. Frekvensene for stimulert Raman spredning, ωRP og ωSRS, tilsvarer ωi og ωs for spontan Raman spredning, henholdsvis. Vi har nylig utviklet en femtosekund tid-løst nær-IR Raman spektrometer ved hjelp av stimulert Raman spredning for å undersøke strukturer og dynamikk av kortvarige forbigående fotogenerert i π-conjugate systemer2,3,7,10. I denne artikkelen presenterer vi de tekniske detaljene i vår femtosekunders tidsløste nær-IR multiplex stimulert Raman spektrometer. Optisk justering, oppkjøp av tidsløst stimulert Raman spektra, og kalibrering og korreksjon av registrert spektra er beskrevet. Viktige faktorer i femtosekunders tidsløst nær-IR multipleks stimulert Raman måling
For å oppnå tidsløst nær-IR stimulert Raman spectra med et høyt signal-til-støy-forhold, bør probespekteret ideelt sett ha jevn intensitet i hele bølgelengdeområdet. White-light continuum generasjon (seksjon 2.5) er derfor en av de mest avgjørende delene av tidsløst nær-IR stimulert Raman eksperimenter.
