Virale vectoren kunnen gerichte genetische manipulatie. We tonen een werkwijze voor voorwaardelijke genexpressie of ablatie in de muis ruggenmerg, met stereotactische injectie van een virale vector in de dorsale hoorn, een prominente plaats van synaptische contacten tussen primaire somatosensorische afferenten en neuronen van het centrale zenuwstelsel.
