Caenorhabditis elegans ist eine der wichtigsten Modellarten in der Biologie, aber fast alle Forschungen werden in Abwesenheit ihrer natürlich assoziierten Mikroben durchgeführt. Die hier beschriebenen Methoden werden dazu beitragen, die Vielfalt assoziierter Mikroben als Grundlage für zukünftige funktionelle C. elegans-Forschung besser zu verstehen.
