פלטפורמת microchannels-on-a-chip פותחה על ידי שילוב של טכניקת photolithographic reflowable photoresist, ליטוגרפיה הרכה, ומיקרופלואידיקה. פלטפורמת microchannels endothelialized מחקה את הגיאומטריה (3D) תלת ממדית של in vivo microvessels, פועלת תחת זרימת זלוף רציפה מבוקרת, מאפשרת הדמיה באיכות גבוהה ובזמן אמת, ויכולה להיות מיושמת למחקר כלי הדם.
