Här presenterar vi ett protokoll för att kvantitativt bestämma phycobiliprotein innehåll i Cyanobakterien Synechocystis med en spektrofotometrisk metod. Extraktionsmetod tillämpades också till andra cyanobakterier och alger stammar; på grund av variationer i pigment Absorptionsspektra är det dock nödvändigt att testa spektrofotometrisk ekvationerna för varje stam individuellt.
