Her præsenterer vi en enkel og effektiv metode til at isolere levende meiotiske og post-meiotiske kimceller fra voksne muse testes. Ved hjælp af en lav-cytotoksicitet, violet-ophidset DNA bindende farvestof og fluorescens-aktiveret celle sortering, kan man isolere højt beriget spermatogene cellepopulationer for mange downstream applikationer.
