Een real-time screening procedure voor het identificeren van geneesmiddelen die een interactie met G-eiwit-gated naar binnen gelijkrichter K<sup> +</sup> (GIRK) kanalen beschreven. De test maakt gebruik van membraanpotentiaal-gevoelige fluorescente kleurstoffen op GIRK activiteit op het kanaal te meten. Deze techniek is geschikt voor toepassing op een aantal cellijnen.
