We beschrijven een methode om organotypische hippocampale slices die gemakkelijk kan worden aangepast aan andere hersengebieden te bereiden. Brain plakjes worden gelegd op poreuze membranen en cultuur media is toegestaan om een interface te vormen. Deze methode behoudt de bruto-architectuur van de hippocampus voor maximaal 2 weken in cultuur.
