We ontwikkelden een model van chorioamnionitis om foetale blootstelling aan maternale ontsteking (FEMI) te simuleren zonder complicaties van levende organismen om de effecten van FEMI op de ontwikkeling van het darmkanaal van het nageslacht te onderzoeken. Dit maakt het mogelijk om mechanistische oorzaken voor de ontwikkeling van darmletsel na chorioamnionitis te bestuderen.
