Autofagie is een alomtegenwoordige proces waarmee cellen om eiwitten en organellen degraderen en te recyclen. We passen geavanceerde fluorescentie microscopie te visualiseren en kwantificeren van de kleine, maar essentiële, fysieke veranderingen geassocieerd met de inductie van autofagie, waaronder de vorming en verspreiding van autofagosomen en lysosomen, en hun fusie in autolysosomes.
