הפעלת מפרקי חלבונים של ערוץ אפיתל נתרן (ENaC) הביע heterologously בXenopus laevis ניתן להדגים ביציות על ידי שילוב של מדידות זרם עם גישת biotinylation לחקור את המראה של מוצרי מחשוף ערוץ יון על פני התא. ניתן לזהות אתרי מחשוף חשובים ופונקציונליים באמצעות מכוון mutagenesis אתר.
